Political Populism

In a collaborative project lasting several months, START Vienna fellows learned and worked together with the artists Johanna Kirsch, Francesco Ciccolella and Peter Phobia, as well as with art educators from the Kunsthalle Wien. Based on the exhibition Political Populism, they explored the connections between the private and the political, in particular the reaction of contemporary art to socio-political changes. The result was presented at the Kunsthalle Wien Museumsquartier on April 28th, 2016. On view until May 10, 2016 are the drawings, posters, videos, and a self-produced magazine that emerged from an intense engagement with themes such as democracy, freedom, and media (consumption).
